Prof Ayyappan is the former Director-General, Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) and Secretary to Government, Department of Agricultural Research and Education (DARE) and Chancellor of Central Agricultural University, Manipur.

A native of Bengaluru, he is a reputed Aquaculture Scientist and played a key role in powering India's Blue Revolution.

Dr Ayyappan holds a PhD from Bangalore University and a master’s degree in Fish Production and Management from the College of Fisheries in Mangalore. He has published extensively in areas of fisheries, limnology, and aquatic microbiology."

Today, 12/01/22, on the occasion of National Youth Day, RKM, Shivanahalli came together to revive the vision of Swami Vivekananda. The occasion was graced by conveners of Sister Nivedita Prathishthana and Yuva Brigade, Smt. Smruthi and Sri Sumanth. Both our guests gave power packed talk on the role of the Youth in carrying forward the chariot of 'Man making-Nation building'. They had also initiated a discussion on the role of teachers, which has become much more crucial than ever before. Teacher has the essential responsibility to channelize the energy of students who will be the flag bearers of the world envisioned by Swami Vivekananda.
